Dr. Marisa Juntilla specializes in the diagnosis of leukemia and lymphoma. She has practiced Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology for more than 6 years. Dr. Juntilla has a special interest in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and disorders of bone marrow failure including myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Dr. Juntilla trained in Clinical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. After completing a fellowship in Hematopathology at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Juntilla is continuing her clinical practice while also searching for improved leukemia therapy in the laboratory.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests

My research goal is to reveal novel biology in leukemia that links cancer cell metabolism to protein translation, ultimately providing new opportunities for personalized medicine and reduced chemotherapeutic toxicity.
