I am a medical doctor from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and currently a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. I am interested in the neuropsychological aspects of neuropsychiatric disorders and have training in repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). I have experience in primary and emergency medicine, having worked with underserved populations in South America. I am also interested in bioethics, in the particularities of physician-patient relationships, and in the science of effective communication. I speak 4 languages, and I believe that communication and cultural learning are some of the keys to reduce health disparities and increase the quality of medical assistance. My goal is to become a psychiatrist with a multidisciplinary approach and ultimately, find ways to increase patient satisfaction with clinical care.
