Dr. Beck is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford, where she primarily works in the INSPIRE clinic. Through this work in the INSPIRE clinic, Dr. Beck specializes in treatment of individuals experiencing first- and early-episode psychosis, especially in the young adult population. Her clinical research is in the areas of catatonia as well as in early psychosis. Dr. Beck also enjoys supervising trainees and teaching medical students at Stanford.

Dr. Beck obtained her medical degree at Yale School of Medicine, and then completed residency in General Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She then spent a year as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Yale, working in the Transitional Age Youth inpatient unit and in the Intensive Outpatient Program. She is excited to now be contributing to the Stanford Psychiatry Department and the Stanford School of Medicine by providing compassionate patient care and research, especially as it pertains to individuals experiencing psychosis.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests

Dr. Beck's clinical research includes the relationship between catatonia and substance use. In addition, she works on first-episode psychosis, with a focus on treatments in the young adult population.
