Syamantak Khan, PhD is an Instructor of Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics at Stanford University. He completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi. A major focus area of his research is patient-derived organoids for screening cancer therapeutics and imaging radiotracers for Head and Neck cancers. Another area of focus is advanced radiotherapy techniques, including FLASH, which promises to transform cancer radiotherapy's accuracy and therapeutic index. He has published his research in leading scientific journals, won recognition awards from scientific societies, and received research funding from the Stanford Cancer Institute, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as principal investigator.
